Antoine Alvear is a renowned Chilean pianist currently based in New York City. He specializes in Jazz and Latin Music and also performs R&B, Hip Hop, Pop and World Music. Primarily self-taught, Antoine studied classical piano under piano master Elisa Alsina from the National Conservatory of Music, University of Chile. Hailing from a family of acclaimed musicians, he was drawn to Jazz and Latin Jazz from an early age as he grew up listening to legends, including Charlie Parker, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Bud Powell, Tito Puente, Machito, Cortijo and Sonora Matancera. David Lewis began his career in New York as the conductor of the original cast of Godspell. His music can be heard on the soundtracks of the films Fame and Shoot the Moon, directed by Alan Parker, Paul Mazursky's Tempest with Susan Sarandon and The Fan, in which he also played the part of Lauren Bacall's musical director. David has toured throughout the world with Barbara Cook, Lorna Luft, Andrea McArdle, Hildegard, the Theatre Guild, 20 years with the "Sesame Street" tours, and while a student, with the University of Michigan Jazz Band for the cultural exchange program for the U. Samuel Martinelli is a drummer, composer and educator based in New York City. With a degree in Music Therapy, worked during college years with elderly and young adults. His studies were focused developing programs relating Music Therapy and Music Education.
In 2014 moved to New York City with his wife Carina to attend the City University of New York - Queens College where he had the opportunity to study with the great drummer Dennis Mackrel. In 2016 Samuel earned a Master Degree in Jazz Studies by that university. Click to learn more.
born on December 27, 1927 in Othello, Washington, in the living quarters behind my grandparents' store, Knepper's Novelty Shop. I found a guy in the Bronx who had an old plywood Kay bass that he wanted $75 for. He held it for me, and I gave him a few dollars every time I could scrape some extra money together. Meanwhile I borrowed or rented basses for jam sessions and paying jobs. It was a great thrill when I finally took possession of my Kay. Click here to learn more.
Born in 1976 Tokyo Japan, Ryo started playing trumpet at age of 15. From 1996 to 1999 he attended Berklee Collage of Music in Boston MA and earned a college diploma as a performance major and studied with Darren Barrett, Tiger Okoshi , Charlie Lewis. He has played and taught trumpet professionally in Tokyo Japan since 2000. The spring of 2006 he arrived NYC and has played many venues including Appolo theater, The Blue Note, Smalls, St Nick's pub, The Cotton club, Minton's play house, The Smoke, St Peter's Church etc. He appeared Israel Ashodod Super Jazz festival Israel in 2010 as only guest from Japan.
